Light Liquid Paraffin (LLP) is a highly refined, clear, colorless, and odorless mineral oil derived from petroleum, composed mainly of saturated hydrocarbons. It is chemically stable, non-reactive, and has low to moderate viscosity depending on grade. LLP is widely used as a solvent, carrier, and emollient in industries such as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, fragrances, and candles. In perfumery, it acts as a diluent and mild fixative, though it may reduce fragrance diffusion compared to solvents like DPG or IPM. Its excellent stability, safety, and cost-effectiveness make it suitable for bulk and industrial applications, especially where neutrality and low odor are required.
